Frequently asked questions
Are Tahitian pearl earrings appropriate for everyday wear?
Yes — Tahitian pearls are durable saltwater pearls with thick nacre. Stud earrings in 8-10mm are particularly suited for daily wear. We recommend removing them before showering, swimming, or applying perfume.
What size Tahitian pearl earrings should I choose?
8-9mm reads as a refined daily stud. 10-11mm is a statement size for occasions. 12mm+ is dramatic — typically reserved for evening wear or special events.
Do you offer hypoallergenic posts?
Yes. Our 18K gold settings are nickel-free. For those with extreme sensitivity, we can produce custom platinum or surgical-grade titanium posts on request.
How are pairs matched?
Each pair is hand-matched on size (within 0.25mm), shape (round/near-round/drop matched to identical category), color overtone (must read identically in indoor and daylight), and luster grade.
Will the gold setting tarnish?
18K gold (75% pure) does not tarnish. 925 sterling silver settings will develop patina over years; we include a polishing cloth and care guide with each silver piece.
Earrings are where Tahitian pearl color shines most directly — close to the face, the peacock-to-aubergine spectrum reads at any conversational distance. The pieces below are set in 18K gold and 925 sterling silver, in classic stud, drop, and dangle styles. Pearl sourcing: Pinctada margaritifera from Mangareva and surrounding French Polynesian atolls, where our family has worked with the same pearl farms for three decades. Sizes range from 9mm to 11mm — small enough for daily wear, large enough to read as the centerpiece. Color matching for pairs is exact within our AAA grade (within 0.25mm size, identical overtone). Settings include classic studs, French wires, lever-backs, and post-with-jacket designs. Each pair ships in a presentation case with our certificate of authenticity.
